The Shocking Vision I Just Saw: A Minister's Altar May Speak for or Against Him (Episode 1)

Introduction

For several weeks, we have been immersed in the profound series "The Spirit of Grace and Supplications," a journey that has unveiled remarkable apostolic dimensions of prayer and the grace to prevail in supplication. Each episode has built upon the last, drawing believers into deeper revelations of the Holy Spirit.

Many have wondered why that series suddenly paused.

The answer lies in an encounter so overwhelming that it interrupted everything else. It was a divine vision that brought intense weeping, deep spiritual burden, and an urgent message—not only for ministers but for every believer who values spiritual leadership and mentorship.

This is that vision.

The Vision

In the vision, I found myself observing a young, thriving church. The congregation was gathered, and the sanctuary appeared beautifully arranged. At the center stood a well-decorated pulpit, positioned exactly where one would expect in any church auditorium.

As the minister approached the pulpit to begin the service, something extraordinary happened.

Suddenly, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams appeared.

No one else seemed aware of his presence. Only I could see him.

Although the young minister stood confidently behind what he believed to be his pulpit, I perceived something alarming in the spirit. His original altar had somehow been set aside to his left—completely unnoticed by him.

Immediately, I understood that something was wrong.

His altar was speaking against him.

A Cry Over Spiritual Sons

The Archbishop appeared deeply troubled.

Though his outward appearance remained composed, I sensed intense grief and righteous indignation within him. His concern centered on the growing disloyalty and disregard shown by some of his spiritual sons.

In a firm and passionate tone, he declared:

"I will confront them. I will withstand them."

His words reflected not anger born of personal offense, but the burden of a spiritual father whose children had abandoned the principles of honor, loyalty, and mentorship.

The atmosphere was heavy.

The pain was unmistakable.

One Word Written on the Altar

Then came the most striking moment of the vision.

The Archbishop took a writing instrument and, in bold capital letters, wrote a single word across the young minister's pulpit:

MENTORSHIP

He repeated it again and again.

"Mentorship! Mentorship!"

Then he lamented:

"Why are my sons this way?"

It became evident that the minister's greatest challenge was not gifting, anointing, or ministry growth.

It was his relationship with spiritual fatherhood.

The altar itself bore witness against him.

The Scriptures Revealed

The Holy Spirit immediately highlighted three passages from Proverbs:

"Good understanding gives favor, but the way of transgressors is hard."
(Proverbs 13:15)

This reminds us that walking in wisdom attracts divine favor, while rejecting God's established order often leads to unnecessary hardship.

"Poverty and shame shall come to him who refuses instruction, but he who regards reproof will be honored."
(Proverbs 13:18)

Instruction is not humiliation—it is preservation. Those who reject correction eventually invite loss, while those who embrace it receive honor.

"A wise son hears his father's instruction, but a scoffer does not listen to rebuke."
(Proverbs 13:1)

True sonship is demonstrated through teachability. Wisdom listens; pride resists.

A Divine Pause

As the vision drew to a close, the Archbishop asked me two profound questions.

Those questions—and the divine interpretation and instructions that followed—will be shared in Episode 2A and Episode 2B.

Final Reflection

This vision serves as a solemn reminder that ministry is not sustained merely by gifts, eloquence, or public influence.

Honor.

Mentorship.

Spiritual accountability.

Faithfulness to divine relationships.

These are foundations upon which lasting ministry is built.

An altar does more than host sermons—it bears witness to the spiritual realities behind the minister who stands before it.

The question every servant of God must ask is this:

What is my altar saying about me?

Introduction

Every great vision, calling, and God-given assignment will eventually pass through a season called the process.

It is during this process that many people abandon their dreams, lose hope, and walk away from the very purpose God has prepared for them.

The question is:

Why do some endure while others quit?

The answer is found in one word:

Focus.

What you choose to see in the middle of your journey will ultimately determine whether you persevere or surrender.

What Have You Set Before You?

Psalm 16:11 (KJV)

"I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved."

David understood one of life's greatest spiritual principles; focus.

He deliberately chose where to place his focus.

He did not set his problems before him.

He did not set his fears before him.

He did not set his enemies before him.

He set the Lord always before him.

Because his eyes remained fixed on God, his circumstances could not move him.

What you continually place before your eyes eventually governs your emotions, decisions, and actions.

Your Perception Shapes Your Response

Many people lose heart because their current situation becomes the only thing they can see.

Instead of seeing God's promise, they see delay.

Instead of seeing purpose, they see pain.

Instead of seeing growth, they see inadequacy.

Instead of seeing victory, they see shame.

When circumstances cloud your perception, they eventually influence your response.

The greatest battle is often not around you.

It is within your perspective.

Life Is a Process

One of the greatest realities every believer must understand is that life unfolds through process.

There are no shortcuts to spiritual maturity.

There are no shortcuts to divine purpose.

Even Jesus embraced the process.

Hebrews 5:8 (KJV)

"Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered."

Although He was the Son of God, Jesus still walked the path of learning, obedience, and suffering.

The process was not evidence of God's absence.

It was part of God's preparation.

The Secret Behind Jesus' Endurance

What gave Jesus the strength to endure unimaginable suffering?

Scripture answers clearly.

Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)

"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame..."

Jesus fixed His attention beyond the suffering.

He saw the joy that awaited Him.

He saw redemption.

He saw salvation.

He saw generations reconciled to the Father.

Because His focus remained on the glorious end, He endured the painful process.

His focus became His motivation.

Until You Ignore the Shame, You Cannot See the Joy

One of the greatest truths in the Christian journey is this:

Until you ignore the shame, you cannot see the joy.

Pain has a voice.

Delay has a voice.

Failure has a voice.

Shame has a voice.

But so does God's promise.

Every believer must decide which voice will receive their attention.

The process may involve hardship, disappointment, waiting, and sacrifice.

Yet these are not signs that God has forgotten you.

They are often the very pathway leading you toward His purpose.

David's Secret Was His Focus

David declared:

"I have set the LORD always before me."

The Lord became his refuge.

The Lord became his fortress.

The Lord became his confidence.

Because God occupied the center of David's vision, no external circumstance could shake his stability.

True endurance begins when God becomes greater than the challenges surrounding you.

Abram Lost Sight of the Promise

God appeared to Abram with a powerful assurance.

He said:

"I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward."

Yet Abram responded differently.

Genesis 15:2 (KJV)

"Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless..."

Notice the word:

Seeing.

Abram's focus had shifted.

Instead of seeing God's promise, he saw his childlessness.

Instead of seeing God's faithfulness, he saw his present condition.

What we continually behold eventually becomes the language of our faith.

When our eyes leave God's promise, discouragement quickly follows.

Do Not Skip the Process

Every assignment has a process.

Every promise has a process.

Every testimony has a process.

The temptation is often to escape the journey.

But God is not only interested in your destination.

He is equally interested in who you become along the way.

The process develops character.

The process produces endurance.

The process prepares you for what God has already prepared for you.

Focus Determines Endurance

You cannot endure if your eyes remain fixed on temporary discomfort.

Endurance requires vision.

It requires looking beyond today's struggle toward tomorrow's promise.

The believer who sees only today's pain will eventually quit.

The believer who sees God's ultimate purpose will continue pressing forward.

What you focus on determines what strengthens you.

Final Charge

Do not allow your present circumstances to redefine God's promises.

Fix your eyes on Christ.

Trust His timing.

Embrace the process.

Remember that every delay, every challenge, and every difficult season is working together under God's sovereign hand.

Like David, set the Lord always before you.

Like Jesus, look beyond the cross to the joy that lies ahead.

Like Abraham, choose to look again at God's promise instead of your present limitations.

Remember:

You cannot endure unless you set your focus on the ultimate.

May the Lord strengthen your heart.

May He give you grace to endure every process.

And may your eyes remain fixed upon the joy that awaits those who faithfully persevere.

The Veil of Self-Will: The Hidden Enemy of Divine Purpose

"One of the greatest hindrances to the fulfillment of God's purpose is not the power of darkness, but the veil of self-will."

Introduction

One of the greatest assurances every believer has is the victory secured through Christ.

Scripture declares:

Colossians 1:13 (KJV)

"Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son."

As believers, we have been delivered from the authority of darkness. Satan has no legal right to manipulate the destiny of a child of God apart from the believer's own cooperation.

Yet, the Lord revealed a mystery.

There exists a veil capable of limiting the manifestation of God's purpose in the life of a minister—even though they have been redeemed.

This veil does not originate from the devil.

It originates from within.

The Veil That Covers Ministry

The Lord revealed a hidden veil capable of covering the calling of a minister.

This veil fights against God's timing.

It resists God's purpose.

It limits the manifestation of God's power.

It interrupts the divine programming prepared for a person's life.

Regardless of one's gifting, anointing, experience, denomination, or convictions, this veil can prevent the fulfillment of God's assignment.

The Fulfillment of Ministry Depends on the Will

Colossians 4:17 (KJV)

"And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it."

Notice that Paul did not tell Archippus to receive another ministry.

He instructed him to fulfill the ministry he had already received.

This reveals an important Kingdom principle.

Receiving a divine assignment does not automatically guarantee its fulfillment.

Fulfillment is deeply connected to the condition of one's will.

There is only so much the Holy Spirit can accomplish when a person's will continually resists the will of God.

The Greatest Obstacle Often Lives Within

Every individual possesses a will.

After the fall of man, that will naturally gravitates toward self-interest, personal ambition, personal comfort, and self-preservation.

At the center of fallen humanity is a continual desire to satisfy self.

This self-seeking nature often disguises itself as wisdom, ambition, or even ministry success.

Yet it silently opposes the perfect will of God.

Be careful of a personal will that is not submitted to His will.

It is a destroyer of destinies.

It creates opportunities for demonic manipulation.

Jesus Learned Obedience

Our greatest example is Christ Himself.

Hebrews 5:8 (KJV)

"Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered."

Jesus was the Son of God.

Yet even He embraced the process of learning complete obedience to the Father.

Obedience required the continual surrender of His own human will.

True spiritual maturity is measured not merely by gifting but by yieldedness.

Deliverance from Self Requires Grace

Victory over self is not accomplished by human discipline alone.

It is the work of the Holy Spirit.

Only the Spirit of grace and supplication can empower a believer to overcome the bondage of self-interest.

Without this grace, God's timing and purpose remain obscured.

Many desire God's plan while still protecting their own agenda.

But Heaven responds to surrendered hearts.

Jesus Prayed Until His Will Aligned

Hebrews 5:7 (KJV)

"Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared."

Before the Cross came Gethsemane.

Before complete obedience came deep surrender.

Jesus wrestled in prayer until His human will yielded completely to the Father's purpose.

This teaches us that alignment with God often comes through intense communion, prayer, tears, and dependence upon the Holy Spirit.

The Danger of Remaining Veiled

Any minister—or believer—who has not encountered this work of grace remains vulnerable.

The veil of self-interest leaves a person open to subtle demonic manipulation.

Not because darkness possesses authority over them,

but because self-will provides access where surrender has not yet prevailed.

Where self reigns, divine timing is delayed.

Where surrender reigns, God's purposes flourish.

Freedom Begins with Self-Denial

The Christian life is not centered upon self-fulfillment.

It is centered upon Christ.

The call of every disciple is to deny self, embrace God's will, and live under the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

Self-denial is not loss.

It is the pathway to divine purpose.

When we become free from self, we become fully available to God.

Only then can His plans find unhindered expression through our lives.

Final Charge

Examine your heart.

Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal every hidden area where self-interest still competes with God's purpose.

Seek the Spirit of grace and supplication.

Allow Him to break every veil that obscures your calling.

Choose daily to deny yourself.

Choose obedience over preference.

Choose surrender over self-preservation.

Remember:

The greatest victories are not won over demons.

They are won over self.

May the Spirit of grace empower you to mortify the flesh, walk in complete obedience, and fulfill every assignment the Lord has entrusted to your life.
