Focus: The Motivation For Endurance or Quitting

Psalm 16:11

“I have set the LORD always before me:because he is at my right hand, I shall not be MOVED.”

The reason people give up too easily on their aspirations; dreams and vision is FOCUS; what they see.

What are you seeing now , in that situation you find yourself? Has the situation clouded your perception and consequently, your actions?

To some, all they see is the delay or present pain and shame; inadequacy and inefficiency.

Are you aware that life’s a process?

Heb 5:8 “Though he were a Son, yet LEARNT he OBEDIENCE by the things which he SUFFERED;”

Jesus understood that part of life called “The Process To The top” and endured the process. But what was His motivation for endurance?

Heb12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for THE JOY THAT WAS SET BEFORE HIM (ENDURED)the cross, DESPISING the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

He set his focus on the glorious end; THE JOY SET BEFORE Him. And that gave Him the motivation for endurance, despising the shame. The shame, pain, seemingly delay of the process all make up the Process.

UNTIL YOU IGNORE THE SHAME, YOU CAN’T SEE THE JOY

David set the Lord ALWAYS before him and thus, wasn’t MOVED by any situation.

He put the Lord on his right hand; The Lord became His refuge and fortress. He trusted the God of salvation and Process.

God told Abraham, then Abram: “ I am your Shield and your exceeding Great Reward.” But what was Abram’s response?

Gen 15:2. “And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, SEEING I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?”

Abram long shifted his focus on the promise to his childlessness.

Don’t skip the process: endure!

You can’t endure, unless you set your focus on the ultimate.
