What and Who Is the Foundation of Your Life?
Episode 1: Building on the Only Solid Foundation

Introduction
Every structure is only as strong as its foundation.
Whether it is a building, a family, a career, a ministry, or an entire nation, the foundation determines its strength, stability, and longevity. When a foundation is compromised, everything built upon it is affected.
This is the sobering reality revealed in Scripture:
"They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course."
— Psalm 82:5 (KJV)
The psalmist paints a picture of a world whose foundational systems have drifted from God's original design.
When Foundations Lose Their Purpose
The "foundations of the earth" extend beyond physical structures.
They include the systems that shape human life and society, such as:
Education
Health
Family
Finance and business
Religion
Customs and culture
Arts and music
Every other sphere of human society
Each of these was created by God to serve a specific purpose. Yet Scripture suggests that many have departed from that original intention.
A World Out of Alignment
Take education as an example.
Education exists to impart knowledge, develop skills, cultivate wisdom, and shape character.
Yet many people spend years learning without truly understanding. Others quickly forget what they have learned or struggle to apply it meaningfully.
These realities point to a deeper issue.
The challenge is not merely intellectual—it is foundational.
When the foundation is out of alignment, every structure built upon it reflects that disorder.
The Consequence of the Fall
Psalm 82 explains why this condition persists:
"They know not, neither will they understand..."
Since humanity's fall in the Garden of Eden, creation has been affected by the consequences of sin.
The Apostle Paul declares that all have fallen short of the glory of God.
As a result, many things no longer function according to God's original design.
Jesus Himself acknowledged this principle when He said:
"...but from the beginning it was not so."
— Matthew 19:8 (KJV)
God's original intention was perfection, order, and harmony.
Sin disrupted that order.
The Need for Accurate Knowledge
If the world's foundations have shifted, how can anyone build a stable life?
The answer is found in knowing the One who never changes.
Accurate knowledge of Christ restores our understanding of God's original purpose.
He is not simply a teacher of truth.
He is Truth itself.
Jesus: The Only Sure Foundation
Scripture consistently presents Jesus Christ as the only foundation that cannot fail.
The writer of Hebrews calls Him:
"...the author and finisher of our faith."
— Hebrews 12:2 (NIV/KJV)
Paul declares:
"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ."
— 1 Corinthians 3:11 (KJV)
Jesus Himself taught that the wise person is one who builds life upon His words.
Like a house founded on solid rock, such a life remains secure even when storms arise.
(Matthew 7:24–25)
Build Your Life on Christ
Every believer eventually faces one defining question:
What—or who—is the foundation of your life?
Careers may change.
Financial systems may fail.
Human wisdom has limits.
Even the strongest earthly institutions can be shaken.
But Christ remains unchanging.
Those who build upon Him establish their lives on a foundation that cannot be moved.
Final Reflection
The challenges surrounding us remind us that the world's systems are imperfect and often fall short of God's original purpose.
Yet there is hope.
Jesus Christ remains the perfect foundation for every area of life.
When we build upon Him, we discover stability amid uncertainty, truth amid confusion, and purpose amid a changing world.
The strength of your future will always depend upon the foundation you choose today.
